PVD (physical vapor deposition) is a process in which a base metal such as titanium or steel is coated. Real 24K solid gold is applied into surgical steel in a heated chamber under a high vacuum. An electric voltage is applied, and forms a plasma in the chamber and the introduction of various gases produces an ion bombardment. It then atomizes the 24K gold into tiny substances which are deposited into the jewelry. The result is a hardened layer which is biocompatible and can be autoclaved.
Real rose gold alloys are applied onto surgical steel in a heated chamber under a high vacuum. An electric voltage is applied, and forms a plasma in the chamber and the introduction of various gases produces an ion bombardment. It then atomizes the 24K gold into tiny substances which are deposited into the jewelry.
14K is best for body jewelry as it is strong enough to maintain the threads on a piece. Do not clean with alcohol or harsh chemicals.
Brass is used to achieve a vintage, tribal look with gold like appearance. It is not suitable for initial piercings, and contains no nickel or lead content. Not recommended on genital piercings. Should only be worn for short duration in well healed piercings. Wash with mild soap and warm water.
Glass jewelry is tempered, medical-grade, non-porous and lead-free. Glass jewelry is non-toxic and bio-compatible, and should not be used for new piercings, or during stretching. Wash with warm water and soap.
A biocompatible, medical implant grade silicone, Kaos Silicone is extremely flexible, light and comfortable. Pieces made from Kaos Silicone should be washed only with soap and water, and used in completely healed piercings. Kaos Silicone does not smell or build up, and is not microporous. Anodized jewelry is surgical steel with is dipped and coated with titanium. It goes through an electrochemical process that covers the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion resistant metal that won’t chip or fade.
PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is a process in which a coating is applied into surgical steel in a heated chamber under a high vacuum. Electric voltage applied with form plasma in the chamber and the introduction of various gases produced an ion bombardment that atomizes the material into tiny substances, which are then deposited onto the jewelry. This results in a hardened layer which is biocompatible and can be autoclaved.
Smooth, hard, durable and chemically resistant, enamel resin is easy to clean and scratch resistant. It holds long lasting colour, and will not fade with UV light.
A tough, protective coating that keeps gems shiny and prevents them from falling out.
